Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment (ASCENT)
In May 2025, the state passed legislation that eliminated the Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment (ASCENT) program after the 25/26 school year. This means current seniors (graduating in 2026) will not be able to participate in ASCENT next year.
ASCENT is a fifth-year high school program that lets eligible seniors take a year of only college classes at Front Range Community College or AIMS Community College. ASCENT students do not attend high school classes.
Teacher Recruitment Education & Preparation (TREP)
is a fifth and sixth year high school program for future educators that lets eligible seniors take college only classes at Front Range Community College or Metro State University.
